Parks

Lake Ray Roberts is surrounded by Lake Ray Roberts State Park. Within the state park there are two main park areas, the Isle Du Bois Unit and the Johnson Branch Unit. In addition to these, there is the Greenbelt Corridor at the south end of the lake that follows trails and the Elm Fork Branch of the Trinity River all the way down to Lake Lewisville.

Isle Du Bois

Isle Du Bois is the best park on Lake Ray Roberts. It is also the most popular park on the lake. Isle Du Bois is located on the south end of Lake Ray Roberts which is closer and more convenient to the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. You will find wonderful camping, fishing, swimming, hiking and more within this beautiful park. This is one of the nicest state park (units) in Texas.

Johnson Branch

Located on the north side of Lake Ray Roberts is the Johnson Branch Unit of the Lake Ray Roberts State Park. This park is very similar to Isle Du Bois, but the added distance from Dallas-Fort Worth makes this park slightly less popular and therefore less crowded. You will find great shaded camping here with many lakeside campsites. You can also find a nice swim beach, hiking trails, boat ramp, fishing pond, and more within the Johnson Branch Unit.

Greenbelt Corridor

The Greenbelt Corridor is located just on the south side of the dam of Lake Ray Roberts. The Greenbelt Corridor starts as a small park, but then follows the Trinity River and trails down from Lake Ray Roberts to Lake Lewisville.
